DaY 1 -Perth > kota kinabalu ifm / d

Relax and enjoy your home pick up by private car. Transfer to the airport to meet your fellow travellers and board your flight to Kota Kinabulu via Singapore. On arrival we transfer to the Resort Hotel. Settle in before enjoying a buffet dinner at the resort.

DAY 2 - city tour and Mari mari cultural village B / l / d

This morning we see the sights of Kota Kinabalu including the Phu Thou Se Chinese Buddhist Temple, the new magnificent Moorish Likas Bandaraya Mosque and the spectacular State Mosque with its gold motif domes. We continue to the Mari-Mari Cultural Village. You visit each tribe’s traditional house and do some in-house activities. There will be a Welcome Ceremony at one of the tribe houses followed by a cultural performance. After the performance, you will be led to the Dining Hall to enjoy a traditional lunch before the end of the tour. Tonight we enjoy dinner at the hotel.

DAY 3 - full day kota kinabalu park and kundasang war memorial B / l

On arrival at Kinabalu Park you take a guided nature walk with the Park’s naturalist and your nature tour guide. After lunch at Balsam Restaurant visit the beautiful Kundasang Memorial Garden which symbolizes one of the most tragic and heroic events of World War Two. This now peaceful setting is in memory of those 2434 Australian and British Soldier incarcerated at Sandakan POW Camp and the notorious Death Marches of which 1781 young Aussies Soldier lost their lives. The Memorial Garden includes Australian Garden, English Garden, Borneo Garden and The Pool of Reflection in memory of the infamous death marches of which only 6 Australians were to survive by escaping.

DAY 4 - halfday visit to the lok kawi wildlife park B / d

We travel to The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park. Among the inhabitants of the zoo are the Borneo Pygmy Elephants, Sumatran Rhinoceros, Orang Utan, Proboscis Monkey, Malayan Tiger, Reptiles as well as some different species of deer. Later in the morning, return to downtown Kota Kinabalu for the chance to purchase lunch and free at leisure at hotel. Tonight we enjoy dinner at the hotel.

DAY 5 - sunday market - gaya street fair B

Every Sunday morning, Gaya Street is closed to traffic for the Gaya Street Fair. You will be amazed to see trade sell almost anything;- fruit and vegetable, fish, cut flowers and plants, clothes, toys, souvenirs and handicrafts, antiques, and traditional medicine. Enjoy bargaining with the trader at the Gaya Street Fair.

DAY 6 - sepilok orang utan sanctuary day trip with sandakan war mwmorial B / l

This morning we take a flight to Sandakan for a close encounter with the “Wildman of Borneo”. See how tamed Orang Utans are being rehabilitated into the wild. Witness the Orang Utan feeding by the rangers. Continue to Sandakan for your lunch with a brief city tour of Sandakan. We then visit the Australian POW War Memorial Garden situated on the site of the Sandakan Prisoner of War Camp 1942 to 1945. It was from this camp that the infamous Sandakan Death March Commence in 1945. Then, return to airport for our flight back to Kota Kinabalu.

DAY 7 - free choice rafting / island beach day / wildlife cruise

Today you can choose one of the three activities included in your holiday cost.

Rafting – Kiula River is a moderate river with cascades and rapids which could thrill any novice rafter. Raft through picturesque countryside, lush rainforest and village. Enjoy a BBQ lunch at the riverbank before returning to KK.

Island Beach Day – Board the ferry to Manukan Island, one of five islands close to the mainland. Enjoy swimming and snorkelling – see the rich marine life amongst the coral reef. At BBQ lunch will be served in the restaurant.

Klias Proboscis Wildlife River Cruise – Pass by picturesque countryside, stopping along the way to see Papar’s Open Market. Board a river boat and observe the unique lifestyle-elusive proboscis monkeys, macaques, buffaloes, iguanas and more. After seeing brilliant fireflies return to the village for dinner.

DAY 8 - borneo railway b / l / d

The North Borneo Railway runs through the major towns of Kinarut and Paper. See the scenic paddy fields, rubber trees, and villages along the railway. Short excursions will be conducted to see the quaint Tien San Shi Temple and the open markets of Paper town. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel.

DAY 9 - kota kinabalu > perth b / ifm

Say goodbye to Kota Kinabalu and fly to Perth via Singapore. On arrival in Perth your driver will be waiting to take you safely home.
