DaY 1 -Perth > norfolk island ifm

Relax and enjoy your home pick up by private car. Transfer to the airport to meet your fellow travellers and board your flight to Norfolk Island via Brisbane. On arrival we transfer to the South Pacific Resort which is set in 3.5 hectares of beautiful parkland, close to the beach and minutes from historic Kingston.

Motel: 7 nights at the South Pacific Resort Motel.

DAY 2 - island tour / wonderland by night B / d

Visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and much more. The morning’s tour includes a delicious morning tea in the garden of a historic island home. After an early dinner at the motel, we embark on a Wonderland by Night Tour. The setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines and bushland lit up like an enchanted forest. Meander along a gentle winding path with Archie, a descendant of the Bounty mutineers, as he recites his poems and lights up the dioramas.

DAY 3 - free morning / convict settlement tour B / d

You have the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, join the in-depth tour of the historic Georgian settlement of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery and hear the history of interesting convict and colonial headstones. Further on, listen to stories of the houses along the Quality Row and walk through the ruins of the New Gaol. An opportunity to see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill with afternoon tea included. We return to the motel for dinner.

DAY 4 - breakfast bushwalk / 4wd / progressive dinner B / d

This morning we take a bush walk to the Captain Cook monument for a delicious breakfast BBQ. There is a choice of three bush walks, an experienced walk, a short walk; or a short flat walk through scenic Mt Bates. At the end of the walks we all meet at the cliff top for a delicious barbeque breakfast. For those who don’t walk, the coach departs the motel at 8.15am. Early afternoon, join John and his island staff – all direct descendants of the bounty of the Mutineers on a tour to points of Norfolk only accessible by 4WD. Tonight you’ll enjoy a 4-course dinner progressing to different island homes where you will meet the host family who will discuss the history of their family and home. It’s a fun night and a great way to meet the local people and sample some of the island’s dishes.

DAY 5 - farm and industry / mutiny on the bounty B / d

Come behind tourism and see Norfolk’s local industries. Visit the island’s largest market garden and state of the art kentia palm nursery which exports to Europe. Experience the island’s only soft drink and liqueur production including tasting liqueurs based on many of their wild fruits. We return to the hotel and have most of the afternoon free. Tonight we see descendants of the mutineers bring the story of the famed “Mutiny on the Bounty” and historic events to life in a show performed in an outdoor amphitheatre on Norfolk’s western coastline. An event not to be missed!!

DAY 6 - greenfingr tour / your night as a convict B / d

This morning we visit some of the island’s most lovely gardens including a nursery owned and operated by a young Norfolk Islander, a private fruit and vegetable market garden and more. This exclusive tour begins with a visit to Norfolk’s major orchard, ‘Natural Choice’. Your host, Paddy Cavill will explain his own horticultural style of gardening. Morning tea will be served in a scenic location. The afternoon is free and then it’s a fun night for all ages. Dress as a convict and join in with the Commandant for an evening of gaiety, feasting, singing and dancing. Great food! Great Fun! Norfolk’s only dinner and dance night – it’s the most popular dinner on Norfolk.

DAY 7 - island culture show / sound and light show B / d

After a leisurely morning, witness the culture of our forebears. From the mutineer ancestors and their Tahitian wives came the arts of wood craft, weaving, cooking and the Norfolk language. On this tour see a woodturning demonstration using Norfolk timber, visit an Island home where you’ll learn about their cooking. An island weaving demonstration and a presentation on the Norfolk language will follow the afternoon tea break. After an early poolside BBQ dinner at the motel, experience the Sound and Light Show – Nightfall at Kingston brings a different mood to the Convict Settlement. The stillness and the stars are there just as they were before mankind arrived in 1788. However, with the dramatic use of real life sounds, theatrical lighting and costumed actors, the stillness is broken as Pinetree Tours takes you through the horrifying decades of Norfolk Island’s convict era.

DAY 8 - norfolk island > perth ifm

After an early breakfast, we are transferred to the airport for our flight home via Sydney. In Perth your driver will be waiting to assist with luggage and drive you home safely.
