Today’s touring takes us north to the Gold Coast. First, we hop on board Surfers Paradise River Cruises and explore the waterways as we pass the million dollar homes, Marina Mirage and Broadwater, enjoying a cuppa along the way. Back on dry land, we drive to Main Beach for a very special High Tea at Palazzo Versace Hotel. Our next stop is Skypoint, the tallest building on the Gold Coast. Here we’ll ride in one of the fastest elevators in the world to the 77th floor to take in the stunning views from the observation deck. Saddle up for a remarkable journey to the snow peaked mountains of the high country where legendary yarns come alive and one of Australia’s most stirring true stories is reborn as Australian Outback Spectacular commemorates the Centenary of the ANZACS and the heroes of the legendary Australian Light Horse.

We have a leisurely start to this morning before we head south today to Murwillumbah where we have planned a visit to the Tweed Regional Gallery. The gallery has recently completed its third and final stage – and what a stage it is! The Margaret Olley Arts Centre celebrates the career, life and legacy of its namesake, Margaret Olley – Australia’s most celebrated painter of still life and interiors. We enjoy morning tea at the gallery café before making our way to Byron Bay, located at Cape Byron which is Australia's most Easterly point. Lunch today is at The Farm. This is a real working farm with animals and crops and today we’ll gain some first-hand knowledge on their unique farming practices. Before leaving Byron Bay, we take a look at the lighthouse precinct and take a short walk towards the point before making our way back to Tweed Heads.

Good Friday. We farewell Tweed Heads and drive north past Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast. No holiday to this area would be complete without a visit to Australia Zoo – home, of course, to the late Steve Irwin, the “Crocodile Hunter”.  After a great day here, we’ll transfer to Noosa.

Hotel: RACV Noosa Resort, Noosa Heads for 4 nights

We’re lucky enough to be here on a Saturday so, after breakfast, we’ll head off to the famous Eumundi Markets. Late morning, we make our way to Yandina to visit Australia’s only and the world’s largest Ginger Factory. After lunch, it is all about Ginger as we are guided through the ginger story. Returning to Noosa we’ll transfer to Hastings Street – the bustling beachside strip that is home to an exciting range of fashion labels, unique jewellery, homewares, art & beauty products. It is the perfect destination for shoppers!! We meet up later this afternoon to transfer back to the resort.

Happy Easter! We have a fabulous day in store today as we travel up to The Blackall Range. We have a most colourful visit today and it will be hard to know which way to look as we descend into the Maleny Botanic Gardens. From here we make our way to the natural jewel of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, on the southern edge of the Blackall Range. The reserve comprises of 55 hectares of subtropical rainforest overlooking the spectacular Glass House Mountains. Take a relaxing guided walk along the rainforest paths with time at the end to explore the newly built interactive Rainforest Discovery Centre.  We travel along the range to Montville, taking in the beautiful vistas along the way. We will have free time here to browse the many arts and crafts shops – our coach will drop us at the top of the village and we can walk downhill! After a great day’s sightseeing we return to the resort.

  • Day 7: NOOSA

We are in for a treat today as we join Everglades Wilderness Cruise. Enjoy a cuppa and morning tea continuing through ancient landscapes, mirrored waterways and sub-tropical rainforest for a BBQ lunch at Harry’s Hut, a glorious natural environment with some magnificent hidden wildlife. After lunch experience the magnificent wonders of the Everglades, recognised as one of the most spectacular regions in Australia.  We cruise back along the gleaming waters of the Noosa River spotting a variety of native flora and fauna as well as some colourful bird species.

Unfortunately our Easter break is coming to an end. Today we transfer back to Brisbane Airport to connect with our flight home to Perth. Upon arrival into Perth your driver will be waiting to take you home.

Our Easter break encompasses two well-known holiday areas on Queensland south coast.  We spend our first three nights at Tweed Heads, on the southern end of the famous Gold Coast. From here we can explore the Gold Coast and also have a look at the beautiful Tweed Valley. From Tweed Heads we head north to Noosa which has always been a favourite Queensland holiday destination. With its beautiful north facing beaches, its famous Hastings Street shopping & café precinct and the stunning National Park that borders the town, Noosa is a gem. It’s the perfect place to enjoy our Easter break.
