Day 1: PERTH TO ADELAIDEIFMD
Your holiday begins when you are picked up from home by a private vehicle and transferred to the airport. Meet your fellow travellers and Kings Tour Manager and fly to Adelaide. Upon arrival into Adelaide, we are met by our local touring coach and head south to the seaside township of Victor Harbor. Upon arriving, meet the town’s iconic horse drawn tram and cross the causeway to Granite Island. Feel refreshed by the crisp sea air as you listen to the Clydesdales clip their heavy hooves along the jetty bridge. Back on the mainland, we check into our hotel for the first night of our tour.
Hotel: McCracken Country Club, Victor Harbor for 1 night
Day 2: ADELAIDE TO KANGAROO ISLANDB L D
We are up early as we head to Cape Jervis today. Sailing across Backstairs Passage, we arrive at the unmistakable sanctity of Kangaroo Island. You are in for a treat as we spend the next 3 nights exploring this breathtaking island. Indulging in its towering cliffs, wild plains and pristine beaches, we discover its unique wildlife and mouth-watering produce. Uncover the secrets of Clifford’s Honey Farm and taste delicious honey ice-cream, made from the unique Ligurian bee found only on Kangaroo Island…. yum! At Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, famous for its 100% pure eucalyptus oil, enjoy lunch while discovering how the product is made. We now check in to our accommodation located in Kingscote, the main town of Kangaroo Island. Situated on the northeast corner of Nepean Bay it is surrounded by hills and cliffs that descend down to the heritage site of Old Kingscote.
Hotel: Auroa Ozone Hotel, Kingscote for 3 nights
Day 3: KANGAROO ISLANDB L D
Another beautiful day! Joined by our guide, it is time to meet some of the locals that inhabit the island at the world-famous Seal Bay Conservation Park. This seaside park is a great place to view the largest colony of Australian sea lions, watch them play on the beach, bask in the sand and swim in the sea. We now head across the island to enjoy lunch at the Chase Café, where we then find ourselves spending the afternoon exploring the Flinders Chase National Park, taking in such sights as the Remarkable Rocks, Cape du Couedic and Admirals Arch. Here, via a spectacular boardwalk, we can see close up a colony of New Zealand Fur Seals who live in the sea and the rocks just below us. What a day of truly exceptional wildlife experiences.
Day 4: KANGAROO ISLANDB L D
Our first stop this morning is to Raptor Domain - it’s here we see a wonderful birds of prey demonstration in a natural setting. After the show, we stay for lunch before making our way via Cygnet River to beautiful Emu Bay. We are here to visit a Lavender Farm which eventuated from the dreams of its owners, Maria and Tony, when looking to diversify their property. We’ll be given an informative talk and offered some lavender ice-cream!
Day 5: KANGAROO ISLAND TO ADELAIDEB L
This morning, we make our way back to Penneshaw to connect with the mid-morning ferry service to Cape Jervis. Once back on the mainland, we travel to the small seaside village of Normanville and into the McLaren Vale Wine District. Lunch today is at Serafino’s, a lovely lakeside winery, before we drive to Adelaide. Our final stop for the day is a “must do” visit whilst in Adelaide - Haigh’s Chocolates. We have a chance for some delicious chocolate tastings and to stock up on supplies before we go home.
Hotel: Stamford Plaza, Adelaide for 2 nights
Day 6: EXPLORING ADELAIDE | HIGH TEAB
Today we have arranged a tour of the Adelaide Oval. The redeveloped oval offers a unique blend of new and old – from the latest in stadium design to the famous features such as the heritage listed scoreboard, the century-old Moreton Bay Fig trees and the grassed northern mound. Our tour will take us behind the scenes to the inner workings of this iconic ground. From cricket matches to footy matches, it will feel like we are one of the stars. We head to Glenelg, a seaside suburb where we enjoy our high tea, a lovely way to finish our holiday with friends. We now have some free time to stroll along Jetty Road, or perhaps a walk along the beach or the jetty.
Day 7: ADELAIDE TO PERTHIFMB
After breakfast, we checkout of the hotel and transfer to Adelaide Airport for our flight home to Perth. Upon arrival into Perth your driver will be waiting to take you home.
Kangaroo Island, because of its variety and abundance of wildlife, has often been described as a “zoo without fences”. Third largest in Australia after Tasmania and Melville. Separated from the mainland for thousands of years, it retains plants and animals extinct elsewhere in Australia. Spectacular cliffs defy rolling incursions by the Southern Ocean from Antarctica. The hinterland includes untamed wilderness, huge grass trees, farmland and forest.
