Your holiday begins when you are picked up from home by private vehicle and transferred to the airport. Meet your fellow travellers and Kings Tour Manager and fly to Adelaide. Upon arrival into Adelaide we are transferred to our hotel where we have time to settle in before dinner as a group.
Hotel: Peppers, Adelaide for 2 nights
Today we learn about the rich history of Adelaide. Starting with a leisurely stroll along Adelaide’s tree lined boulevard visiting the Art Galley of SA and neighbouring South Australia Museum. We now have time at leisure to purchase lunch before we embark on a guided tour of Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens. From here we head to Adelaide Oval for a tour into te ground’s inner sanctum. Afterwards, we visit the Bradman Collection, a private collection of memorabilia from Australia’s great Sir Donald Bradman. After our full day of discovery we return to our hotel where the night will be at leisure.
This morning we depart Adelaide and make our way through to the Barossa Valley to visit the Whispering Wall which is locally known as the “acoustic miracle”. From here we stop at Seppeltsfield where we will embark on a Village Discovery tour visiting Jam Factory Craft + Design studios, FINO restaurant for a sourdough tasting with a member of FINO, Vasse Virgin skin care sampling and to finish the tour with a Cellar door wine tasting! We have some time to purchase lunch before travelling over the border into Victoria and onto Mildura. This evening we board the PS Melbourne – one of the last “working” paddle-steamers on the Murray River for dinner.

We head south today where we have arranged an interesting visit in a little town called Boort to see the Spanner Man. The property comprises 2ha of gardens containing many sculptures made from farm spanners. Whilst in the area, we visit Simply Tomatoes & Aussie Wool Quilts. It is here we enjoy lunch to. From Boort we head into Echuca and settle into our accommodation for the evening.
Hotel: Mercure Port of Echuca for 2 nights
After breakfast this morning we meet our local guide who will share with us the history of the Echuca Port and have some free time at the Discovery Centre. Lunch today is on the river aboard the Pride of the Murray. She is one of the many that were originally built in Echuca, but one of the few still operating from her home port. This afternoon we have a chance to look through Sharps Magic Movie House & Penny Arcade with the remaining of the afternoon at leisure.
Today we travel to Bendigo which was originally a gold rush boom town. On arrival we begin our touring with an interesting ride through the main areas of Bendigo onboard the ‘Talking Tram’. Following our ride we visit the Central Deborah Gold Mine for a guided surface tour of what is an actual working mine – right in the centre of the city! After a light lunch, we visit the Golden Dragon Museum. Our last visit for the day is at Bendigo Pottery. Here we step back in time and learn about the production processes, machinery, working conditions and traditional skills of Bendigo Pottery from its beginning in 1858 to the present.

This morning we depart Bendigo and make our way to Castlemaine. On arrival in Castlemaine we visit Pud for all Seasons, a business that was founded in early 2004 by two stay at home mums. Our lunch venue is the Cumberland Hotel followed by a guided tour of Castlemaine. Leaving here we make our way onto Ballarat.

After breakfast we collect our guide and embark on a tour of this historic gold mining city, with its outstanding heritage architecture. Next is a visit to The Eureka Centre, which explores the cultural impact of the gold rush and tells the stories of the men and women who risked their lives in the fight for miners’ rights. Our visit to Ballarat would not be complete without a look through Sovereign Hill, a world standard attraction. It is here we also enjoy dinner and after dinner enjoy the sound and light show, AURA. This show will tell the story of Gold throughout the ages; from its original formation and the Gold rush, to the enduring allure of Gold today.
This morning we depart Ballarat and drive west to Ararat, an attractive old gold mining town and the only one in Australia to be founded by Chinese! We collect our local guide for a town tour before visiting Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre. Early afternoon, we drive to Stawell. Following on visit hear we head into onto the Grampians and onto our next destination on tour which is Halls Gap.

After breakfast we begin our day’s touring. Our first stop is at the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre to view a video presentation as well as enjoy a look through the National Park Visitors Centre. We then head out to several of the best lookouts in the northern part of the National Park –Reeds Lookout and McKenzie Falls – all easily accessible and all with sensational views. The area is likened to a giant botanical garden, filled with one third of Victoria’s fauna. The drive is quite slow as we head across to the western side of the Park for lunch at the delightful Wander Inn. There is art and craft and some delightful gardens to enjoy after lunch.
Departing Halls Gap we farewell our hosts and enjoy a travel day back to Adelaide. We travel via the small townships of Dimboola and Nhill, arriving into Bordertown where we’ll stop for our picnic lunches. Our afternoon’s travels see us make our way into Adelaide for our last night on tour.

This morning we enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then transfer to Adelaide Airport for our flight home to Perth. Upon arrival into Perth your driver will be waiting to take you home.
