We have a leisurely start to the day today. Mid-morning we head to Southbank and the spectacular Eureka Skydeck – for those who wish they can go up to the top to get the awe inspiring views. Leaving here we visit the beautiful Overnewton Castle. The castle was built in 1849 and now stands as a prominent heritage building. The Scottish Baronial style castle set amidst 4 acres of private tranquil English gardens makes the perfect setting for our historical tour and delightful High Tea. We return to the hotel to freshen up and then head to the theatre to watch Billy Elliott. Set in a northern town during the miners’ strike of 1984/5, the show follows Billy’s journey from boxing ring to ballet class where he discovers a passion for dance that unites his family, inspires his community and changes his life forever.
After breakfast we head to the Queen Victoria Markets. At this vast and vibrant centre of trade, we’ll spend time discovering the delightful souvenirs, entertaining buskers and marvelling at the fresh produce of the celebrated market. From here we join Melbourne River Cruises for their ‘River Gardens’ trip. Within moments of departing Melbourne’s arts precinct, we are cruising through picturesque gardens, parklands and some of the most famous sporting arenas. Enjoy a cuppa on board as we listen to the captains interesting commentary. We have the rest of the afternoon at leisure before meeting up for our last dinner of the tour.
This morning we complete our checkout procedures and head to Artvo. Artvo is Australia’s first interactive art gallery. These incredible artworks are presented in three-dimension and specifically designed so that we can “blend” into the images. Take your time as you walk through the various zones taking as many pictures as you please and see how these paintings come alive. From here we transfer to Melbourne Airport for our flight home to Perth. Upon arrival into Perth your driver will be waiting to take you home.
