Your holiday begins when you are picked up from home by a private vehicle. Transfer to the airport and meet your Kings Tour Manager and fellow passengers. Fly to Canberra and upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel where you can unpack and settle in for the next 4 nights.

This morning we take a drive through Embassy Row and we stop at the International Flag Display located along the shore of Lake Burley Griffin where we have some free time to explore. Next we visit the Royal Australian Mint followed by a classic fish and chips lunch at Snapper on the lake before our afternoon cruise across Lake Burley Griffin in the stylish comfort of the MV Southern Cross. Back on dry land we head to the Australian War Memorial to join a public tour or even wander at your own pace through this sombre and uplifting memorial, unveiling the sacrifices made by the women and men who served in war. We stay to witness the moving Last Post Ceremony before returning to our hotel.
Today we have a tour of Parliament House – home of Australia’s Parliament and the meeting place of the nation. Lunch is in the Lanyon Café allowing time to enjoy the view of the Brindabella Mountains in the distance. Polar opposite to what we have just seen we visit the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla. Returning to the hotel we have some free time before dinner.
This morning we enjoy a tour at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) which is responsible and accountable for leading the delivery of Australia’s international sporting success. From here we head to the National Arboretum Canberra for our guided tour. Created as a place of breathtaking beauty, you’ll uncover the world’s largest living collections of rare, endangered and significant trees. Next up for the day we embark on a guided tour of the National Museum of Australia. Hear great stories about Australia and Australians told through new ideas, interactive displays and significant objects. We have some free time to wander through the displays or revisit points of interest from our tour before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Before we leave Canberra today we visit the famous Cockington Green Gardens. This award-winning tourist attraction takes its name from the township of Cockington in Devon, a historic English village. It is a one-twelfth scale reproduction of building and gardens – thatched cottages, a tiny church, the village green and even Stonehenge. Furthermore, model figures bring the scenes to life. Leaving here we visit the National Gallery of Australia to see the Botticelli to Van Gogh Masterpieces.
