SYDNEY & SUNSET BLVD AT THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

Uncovering the sights of Sydney our local coach captain will enlighten us to the intriguing stories, as we make our way to the Harbour foreshore and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. The chair, carved out of the sandstone by convicts for Governor Lachlan Macquarie’s wife to watch the activity on the Harbour offers great views of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison. Afterwards there will be time to wander along Circular Quay and feel the ambiance that only Sydney can exude. With our love of the Opera, later today we make our way to the Opera Bar for lunch followed by a tour of the Sydney Opera House. We see the theatres, discover the stories, history and magic of the House and learn how architect Jorn Utzon’s heritage listed masterpiece came to life. There is nothing more to do than sit back and enjoy ourselves at Sydney’s picturesque iconic location.

After a leisurely start to the day, we make our way suburbs of Double Bay and Rose Bay as we head to splendid Vaucluse House. Steeped in history, this 19th century estate became Australia’s very first house museum in 1915. Whilst here we can take in the stunning surrounds and indulge in High tea. We have time at leisure before our special evening out at the Opera. We take our seats for Sunset Boulevard, weaving the magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. This brand-new production features stunning sets and costumes, evoking the glamorous Golden Age of Hollywood. The thrillingly atmospheric score features the hits ‘With One Look’, ‘The Perfect Year’, and the anthemic ‘As If We Never Said Goodbye’. It will be a performance to remember.

We start the day at the Art Gallery NSW for a special art experience in the new gallery. Discover the art and architecture of Sydney Modern and meet the one-of-a-kind artworks created for this space from large scale installations by significant indigenous artists to new sculptural work by international artists. Late afternoon we have a short transfer to the King Street Wharf where we join the Clearview Dinner Cruise. With floor to ceiling glass windows, it gives us the perfect views of Sydney Harbour as we enjoy our 4 course dinner and take in the spectacular Sydney and the harbour.

What a fantastic time we have had on our memorable holiday enjoying the Iconic Sydney Opera House with Sunset Blvd. Following breakfast, we are transferred to the airport for our flight home. On arrival your driver will be waiting to take you home.
