Hotel: Kununurra Country Club for 4 nights
After breakfast, we are off on a sights tour of Kununurra. Highlights include the Pumphouse, Diversion Dam, Ord Expansion area, Hoochery Rum Distillery, Ivanhoe Crossing and Indian Sandalwood plantations. Early evening enjoy the Kimberley sunset prior to dinner.
This morning you have the opportunity to take a scenic 2 hour flight over the beautiful Bungle Bungles (additional expense and must be pre booked, subject to availability). Mid-morning, you will be taken by coach through Durack country to Lake Argyle. As we near Lake Argyle, you will take a short break at the historic Durack Homestead Museum to enjoy a light lunch. This Museum was constructed as a replica of the original family Homestead and uses the original Homestead stone. Re-boarding the coach, we drive the short distance to Lake Argyle Resort before viewing the enormous Lake Argyle from a scenic look-out. Crossing the Ord Top Dam wall, guests will see the Ord Hydro-Power Station before cruising the scenic 55km back to Kununurra. Marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way and maybe even spot a crocodile! Enjoy afternoon tea at our riverside camp before heading back to Kununurra. Tonight is left at leisure.
Up early where you are picked up from the hotel by an El Questro Ranger. Travel along the Gibb River Road before turning off to the El Questro Wilderness Park. On arrival you will enjoy the bush and culture tour delivering you an insight into the pioneering heritage of The Station and the Indigenous people’s use of different bush plants and a guided tour of the property, stopping at different intervals and points of interest unique to El Questro. From here we enjoy a Beef and Barramundi lunch in the Steakhouse Restaurant before enjoying a Chamberlain River Cruise. Champagne and fruit will be served as you cruise the gorge on return to the jetty. Tonight we enjoy our final dinner together at the hotel. e tags. For italics.
