This holiday offers an exciting adventure to Cambodia and Vietnam, where you will experience the culture, history, and natural beauty of these two countries. You’ll start your journey in Cambodia, where you’ll visit the ancient temples of Angkor, including Bayon and Angkor Wat, and enjoy a walking tour of Angkor Ban, an immersive experience of the traditional village. You will then embark on a Mekong River cruise, where you’ll visit the agricultural island of Koh Pen and explore the open-air copperware workshops in Koh Chen.

As you make your way towards Vietnam, you’ll enjoy fruit-carving demonstrations, a tour of the silk-weaving center of Tan Chau, and visit the charming colonial town of Sa Dec, where you’ll see the French Gothic cathedral and learn how rice paper and coconut candy are made. You will also visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, a tunnel network built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the Vietnam War.

In addition to these cultural experiences, you will have plenty of free time to explore these beautiful countries at your leisure. Whether you choose to take a history tour or see the sights on a city tour, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history and culture of Cambodia and Vietnam.

Tour Conditions

A non-refundable deposit of $1,250.00 per person is due within 7 days of making a booking. You will have the option of take out a $95.00 per person Deposit Cancellation Cover which holds the deposit payment in suspense for 3 years if the booking is cancelled . An additional deposits may be required at the time of booking for your airfare. 

A Kings Tour Manager is subject to reaching minimum numbers. Prices are based on an Earlybird offer – book and deposit by 31 March 2023.  

Home pick-up and return is included based on a set radius – surcharges will apply outside these areas. Other special conditions may apply to each individual tour, please contact the office for further details.

Visas are required for both Cambodia and Vietnam and can be applied for online.

Itinerary

Day 1PERTH TO SIEM REAP (IFM) (D)

Your holiday begins when you are picked up from home in a private vehicle and transferred to the airport. Meet your fellow travellers and Kings Tour Manager and fly to Cambodia. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your accommodation. This afternoon, travel to the temple of Ta Prohm. A range of Insider Experiences proves an exceptional start to your holiday. Enjoy local flavours during your Welcome Dinner this evening.

Day 2ANGKOR, SIEM REAP (B)

Enjoy a free morning to explore or perhaps join a select experience. Later, discover the remains of Angkor Archaeological Park, a long-standing tribute to the ancient Khmer Empire. Visit the 12th-century temple Bayon. Fish your daY with sunset at Angkor Wat.

Day 3SIEM REAP | EMBARK SHIP AT KAMPONG CHAM (BLD)

Transfer to Kampong Cham to join your Mekong River cruise. Spend your afternoon on an Insider Experience. Hop on a tuk tuk and explore the agricultural island of Koh Pen. Travel along the shaded lanes and past wooden stilted houses, tucked amongst palm and sandalwood trees.

Cruise: RV Apsara for 7 nights

Day 4ANGKOR BAN | OKNHA TEY (BLD)

Enjoy an immersive tour of Angkor Ban on walking tour. Return to your ship and continue sailing towards Oknha Tey. Disembark and board a local tuk tuk for a village tour. Leave your local transport and continue on foot for a more in-depth exploration of the village.

Day 5PHNOM PENH (BLD)

Cruise to Phnom Penh then travel by coach to Oudong, the former capital of Cambodia. After an Insider Experience here, continue to Koh Chen and explore the open-air copperware workshops. This afternoon is free to explore or enjoy one of Travelmarvel’s select experiences.

Day 6PHNOM PENH (BLD)

Explore the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which recall one of the darkest moments of the 20th century. Later, take a tour to visit the Royal Palace. See the Silver Pagoda located within the Royal Palace complex and admire the Emerald Buddha carved for baccarat crystal. After dinner, perhaps step out for an evening walk.

Day 7BORDER CROSSING | TAN CHAU (BLD)

Spend today on board as your ship cruises to the Vietnamese border. This afternoon, you might like to attend a fruit-carving demonstration by the ship’s chef while border formalities are carried out and you cross into Vietnam. Tonight, watch a documentary film about Pol Pot as your ship cruises towards the small Vietnamese town of Tan Chau.

Day 8TAN CHAU, SA DEC (BLD)

After breakfast, transfer to a small boat and travel along the Meking’s tiny tributaries, observing the stilt house villages. Go ashore for a tour of Tan Chau by rickshaw. Known as one of the largest silk ‘weaving centres of Vietnam, visit the fascinating local artisan workshops to learn more about the history of the craft.

Day 9SA DEC, CAI BE (BLD)

Take a boat ride to the charming colonial town of Sa Dec for a tour. Visit the former home of Huynh Thuy Le. Here, Le’s one-time lover, French writer Marguerite Duras penned her best-selling novel, The Lover, about their affair. After lunch, step aboard a local boat and journey to Cai Be to see the French Gothic cathedral. Go ashore to visit a local rice paper manufacturer to learn how rice paper is made. After, visit a coconut candy factory to see how the local sweet is created. Enjoy a final dinner on board your ship.

Day 10DISEMBARK SHIP | CU CHI TUNNELS | HO CHI MINH CITY (BL)

Disembark at My Tho Port today and travel by coach to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a tunnel network built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the Vietnam War. For dinner, you may like to choose a select dining experience.

Day 11HO CHI MINH CITY (BD)

Explore Ho Chi Minh City at your leisure today. Perhaps take a fascinating history tour or see the sights on a city tour by choosing an optional select experience. Tonight enjoy a delicious Farewell Dinner.

Day 12HO CHI MINH CITY TO PERTH (B) (IFM)

This morning after breakfast we transfer to the airport for our flight home to Perth. On arrival into Perth you will be meet by your driver and transferred home.
