Itinerary

Day 1PERTH TO ALICE SPRINGS (B)

Your holiday begins when you are picked up from home and transferred to the airport in a private vehicle. Meet your Kings Tour Manager and fellow passengers then fly to Alice Springs. On arrival at Alice Springs Airport, you’ll be greeted by a local touring coach company and transferred to our accommodation for our first night in the Red Centre, including dinner.

Hotel: Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseter’s for 1 night

Day 2ALICE SPRINGS TO KINGS CANYON (BLD)

We leave Alice Springs to travel to Kings Canyon, featuring 100m high sandstone walls, palm filled crevices and views that stretch across the desert. The canyon soars 270 metres above sea level, formed over millions of years. Checking in to our accommodation, we venture to the Light Towers, an immersive sound and light installation by acclaimed international artist Bruce Munro. Our experience takes place in the golden glow of sunset as we enjoy canapes and drinks with native influence before the towers transform in front of Kings Canyon. Then wander through the 69 two metre towers made up of 216 glass bottles per tower that change colour in response to an enchanting soundscape by composer Orlando Gough, taking us on a captivating and immersive auditory and visual journey.

Hotel: Kings Canyon Resort for 1 night

Day 3KINGS CANYON TO YULARA (BLD)

It is always an early start to beat the heat and appreciate the best the Outback offers and today is no exception. We enjoy the gentle (optional) 2.6km Kings Creek Walk that follows a trail between the two soaring canyon walls. As we arrive at the lookout point, we are welcomed with spectacular views. We farewell this incredible location and hit the road. Our destination today is Yulara, located just outside the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Our lunch spot is Curtin Springs, a privately owned cattle station. We arrive in Yulara and freshen up before heading to watch the incredible Uluru Sunset. There are few places on earth that compare to Uluru. Rising 348 metres about the desert floor, Uluru is a cultural and spiritual heart of Australia. From the viewing area, we watch the changing colours on this magnificent monolith as the sun sets over Uluru. We enjoy this spectacular experience with drinks and nibbles as Uluru puts on a remarkable light show, changing from red to orange to lilac in a matter of minutes.

Hotel: Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel, Yulara for 2 nights

Day 4KATA TJUTA NATIONAL PARK (BLD)

Today we return to the National Park and arrive at Uluru for the ranger-guided Mala Walk. Learn about Aboriginal perceptions of Uluru, its powerful significance and how the Anangu Traditional Owners and local Rangers are looking after the park together. We spend time at the Cultural Centre before heading to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) meaning ‘place of many domes’. There are excellent views from an observation deck then time for a walk among the ancient domes. Once at the Valley of the Winds lookout, we take some time to gaze out over the central valley of Kata Tjuta before returning to our hotel. Tonight, we enjoy the magnificent Sounds of Silence Dinner. Beginning with canapes, sparkling wine and the sound of the didgeridoo as the sun sets in the spectacular Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park, you’ll then be treated to a bush tucker inspired dinner incorporating native ingredients. It’s an amazing dining experience not to be missed!

Day 5YULARA TO ALICE SPRINGS (BD)

We have a travel day ahead as we return to Alice Springs. On arrival we visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). Here we hear the incredible history of one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest aviation, medical and communication technology, the RFDS delivers extensive primary health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live, work and travel through remote Australia. Tonight, we head to Earth Sanctuary to enjoy a mouth-watering bush BBQ. Experience the spirit of the outback – from a spectacular sunset over the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges to an awe-inspiring canopy of stars, your host will have you captivated with stories and entertainment. What an incredible experience!

Hotel: Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseter’s for 1 night

Day 6ALICE SPRINGS TO PERTH (B)

The unforgettable time in the magical Red Centre has come to an end. After breakfast, we leave the Red Centre in body, but the spirit of the Red Centre will stay with us as we travel home. Upon arrival in Perth, enjoy a private car transfer back to your home.
