Tour Conditions

A non-refundable/non-transferable deposit of $1500 per person is due within 7 days of making your booking to secure your reservation on the tour. This deposit guarantees your reservation on the tour and acceptance of our terms and conditions. A valid passport is required for this journey. Your passport must be valid for 6 months after your return to Australia. Tours are based on reaching a minimum number. Home pick-up and return is included based on a set radius – surcharges will apply outside these areas. Other special conditions may apply to each individual tour, please contact the office for further details. All itineraries are subject to change due to occasional restrictions in opening times/days of some attractions, e.g. churches, wineries etc. We cannot be held responsible for any changes due to closures, inclement weather etc.

Itinerary

Day 1PERTH TO COLOMBO

Your holiday begins with a private home pick-up and transfer to Perth Airport. Meet your fellow travellers and Kings Tour Manager at the airport for your flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Colombo, where you can settle in and relax after your journey.

Day 2COLOMBO (BL)

Enjoy a free morning at leisure to relax or explore the hotel facilities. At 1:00 PM, enjoy lunch at Blue Orbit by Citrus, offering spectacular views over Colombo city. This afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Colombo, visiting key landmarks and places of interest around the capital city. The evening is at leisure. You may wish to explore the vibrant city atmosphere or enjoy shopping at One Galle Face Mall, located next to the Shangri-La hotel.

Day 3COLOMBO TO GALLE (BD)

After breakfast, depart for Galle along Sri Lanka’s scenic southern coastline. En route, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, one of the island’s oldest sea turtle conservation projects, followed by a relaxing boat safari along the picturesque Madu River. This afternoon, check in to Le Grand Galle and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Tonight, enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 4GALLE (BD)

Early this morning, enjoy a guided tour of the historic Galle Fort and the surrounding town, discovering its fascinating colonial heritage and charming streets. After the tour, you may return to the hotel to relax by the pool or spend time exploring the quaint cafés, boutiques, and galleries within the fort area at your own pace. Dinner will be served at the hotel this evening.

Day 5GALLE TO YALA (BD)

Depart the hotel for a scenic coastal drive towards Yala. Along the journey, stop at a local bakery to purchase lunch and hear stories about the 2004 Tsunami and how the southern communities rebuilt their lives and towns following the disaster. Upon arrival, check in to DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna Resort. Later, enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 6YALA SAFARI (BD)

Early morning jeep safari in Yala National Park, home to elephants, leopards, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. Return to the resort and enjoy the afternoon at leisure surrounded by nature. This evening, enjoy dinner at the resort.

Day 7YALA TO BADULA TO NUWARA ELIYA (BD)

Travel to Badulla to board one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys through lush tea plantations, misty mountains and cascading waterfalls before arriving at Ambewela. Continue to Nuwara Eliya and check in. This evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 8NUWARA ELIYA | HIGH TEA (B)

Morning at leisure in Sri Lanka’s cool hill country. Enjoy a short sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya, discovering its colonial charm and beautiful gardens. This afternoon, enjoy a traditional high tea at Araliya Green Hills Hotel.

Day 9NUWARA ELIYA TO PERADENIYA TO KANDY (BD)

Depart for Kandy via a visit to a tea plantation and factory to learn about Ceylon tea production. Continue through the hills to Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, explored by golf cart. Proceed to Kandy and check in. This evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 10KANDY (BL)

Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism’s most important pilgrimage sites. Continue to Hemachandras Gems for a demonstration of Sri Lanka’s gem industry. Later, visit a local family home for a traditional Sri Lankan cooking demonstration. This evening, enjoy a vibrant Kandyan cultural performance featuring traditional dance and drumming.

Day 11KANDY TO SIGIRIYA (BLD)

Depart Kandy and travel toward Sigiriya. Stop at a spice garden in Matale for a guided walk through aromatic plantations and Ayurvedic traditions. Enjoy lunch at Ranweli Restaurant before continuing to your hotel in Sigiriya. This evening, enjoy dinner at the resort.

Day 12SIGIRIYA (BLD)

Enjoy a leisurely morning with the opportunity to climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress (additional cost) or visit the surrounding gardens and museum. Later, explore Hiriwadunna village by jeep, meeting local farmers and enjoying a traditional home-cooked lunch. Evening Sri Lankan dinner at Nagula Restaurant.

Day 13POLONNARUWA & MINNERIYA SAFARI (BLD)

Discover the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring remarkable ruins from Sri Lanka’s medieval past. Enjoy a traditional lunch overlooking rural paddy fields. This afternoon, enjoy a safari through Minneriya National Park, famous for its large gatherings of wild elephants.

Day 14SIGIRIYA TO NEGOMBO (BLD)

Visit Selyn Kurunegala to see traditional handcrafted textiles and artisan work. Enjoy a buffet lunch at Saruketha Bay by Oak Ray. Travel to Negombo and take time to relax before gathering for your farewell dinner. Later this evening, transfer to Colombo Airport for your overnight flight home.

Day 15COLOMBO TO PERTH

Continue your journey home to Perth via Singapore. Upon arrival, your driver will be waiting to transfer you home.
