Day 1PERTH TO NEGOMBO (IFM)

Your holiday begins when you are picked up from home and transferred to the airport in a private vehicle. Meet your fellow passengers and Kings Tour Manager then fly to Colombo. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in Negombo.

Day 2NEGOMBO (BD)

Enjoy a leisurely start this morning before embarking on a city sights tour of Negombo. Tonight, be ready for a feast and enjoy the cities nightlife.

Day 3NEGOMBO TO SIGIRIYA TO KANDALAMA (BD)

After breakfast, proceed to Sigirya and if you are up for a challenge, climb the rock fortress. The 5th century rock citadel of King Kasyapa and World Heritage Site. Sigiriya doesn’t only boasts of ancient Sri Lankan engineering & urban planning supremacy but also acclaims to be one of the finest monuments of art & culture. We then head onto Kandamala to our hotel.

Day 4ANURADHAPURA (BD)

Enjoy a tour of Anuradhapura this morning. Commanding a rich Sri Lankan heritage, Anuradhapura is one of the greatest and oldest civilizations in the world. Stroll through the sacred trails of the venerated city to adore the legacy that interweaves Ruwanweliseya – the gigantic dagoba resting alongside the Basawakkulama Tank. Shading the Samadhi Buddha Statue & Isurumuniya Rock Temple that empower the culture, heritage and supremacy of arguably the strongest kingdom in Sri Lankan history. This afternoon we return to the hotel.

Day 5KANDALAMA | HIRIWARUNA | MINNERIYA (BD)

Today you experience the Hiriwaduna walk. It begins with a scenic walk along a bund of a Wewa (man-made reservoir). The amazing birdlife, butterflies and possible sightings of crocodile only add to the charm of the trek. Sight the villagers as they go about their early morning tasks of fishing or washing clothes at the periphery of the lake. Enjoy the farmer’s humble hospitality. With the guidance of the farmer, pick some fresh vegetables from the plot and join in the preparation of a simple meal prepared in the traditional method using earthenware pots and firewood as fuel. This is great opportunity to sample authentic local cuisine. We proceed to Minneriya and enjoy a wildlife safari. Spanning over 8,800 hectares, the Minneriya National Park is located alongside the vast, renovated Minneriya Rainwater Reservoir. The park is also home to about 160 species of birds, 9 amphibians, 25 reptile species, 26 fish species and more than 78 butterfly species.

Day 6POLONNARUWA (BLD)

After breakfast we travel to Polonnaruwa and explore the ancient city. Walk across its scattered walls of the World Heritage Site – blessed by stupas, resting Buddha statues, irrigation canals and fantastically carved Hindu sculptures . Or sit by the side of Galviharaya and observe the absolute beauty of its huge Buddhist statues.

Day 7KANDALAMA TO PERADENIYA ONTO KANDY (B)

This morning we visit the expansive and historic Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. Continue on to Kandy and settle in to our hotel.

Day 8KANDY (B)

After breakfast, it’s time for a cooking demonstration. You will visit the markets first to get all the fresh produce needed for a typical Sri Lankan dish. Later, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy followed by a cultural show. Return to the hotel with the evening at your leisure.

Day 9KANDY | PERADENIYA | NANU OYA | NUWARA ELIYA (BD)

After breakfast we transfer to PeradeniyaStation and board the train to Nanu Oya.Enjoy the picturesque journey from your observation carriage as the train snakes itsway through the mountains and tea country. Wander through the trails of British colonial era with buildings ranging from Georgian to Queen.

Day 10NUWARA ELIYA (B)

Enjoy a morning city sights tour of Nuwara Eliya including a visit to the tea plantations to see the process involved in making the perfect cup of tea.

Day 11NUWARA ELIYA TO ELLA ONTO YALA (BD)

After breakfast we travel to Ella and visit Ravana Falls. This waterfall measures approximately 25m in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. After, we continue to Yala and check in to our hotel.

Day 12YALA (BD)

This morning we are up early with a packed breakfast as we head on an early morning wildlife safari. After the safari you will have the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 13YALA TO UDAWALAWE ONTO GALLE (BD)

Today we leave Yala and head to Galle. On our way we stop at Udawalawe and visit an elephant transit home. Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home bears a different story. Established in 1995, it caters to all injured elephants found in the area before releasing them into their natural habitat. So, make sure to just watch – rather than touch – these gentle giants as they feed, play and mingle with each other, before heading into the wild with one another. From here we head for Galle and on arrival enjoy a city sights tour before checking in to our hotel.

Day 14GALLE TO KOSGODA TO GALLE (BD)

After breakfast we head out to Kosgoda and visit the Turtle Hatchery. We head back to the hotel where the afternoon will be at leisure.

Day 15GALLE TO COLOMBO (BD)

Today wave goodbye to Galle and enjoy a city sights to of Colombo. This afternoon will be left at leisure before enjoying dinner at the Gallery Café.

Day 16 & 17COLOMBO TO PERTH (BD) (IFM)

Today has been left at your leisure for you to enjoy how you wish. Tonight we will enjoy our final dinner together as a group before we transfer to the airport and begin our journey home. Upon arrival in Perth, your driver will be waiting to take you home.
