EASTER ON THE MURRAY PRINCESS 2027

This morning, we enjoy a brief city tour before travelling to the German heritage town of Hahndorf. This pretty little town is known for its original German style architecture and artisanal food. Explore at your leisure and enjoy lunch before transferring to Mannum to board the PS Murray Princess. Mid-afternoon the PS Murray Princess departs historic Mannum, the birthplace of the Murray River trade and communication, and heads downriver while you enjoy a Welcome Dinner.

This morning, we arrive at Murray Bridge, a town steeped in history. After breakfast choose between a guided tour of the town’s historic landmarks and local attractions such as the Roundhouse, or go on a wildlife tour at Monarto Safari Park (additional cost). In the afternoon, we continue our journey upriver and tonight we moor at Slat Bush Flat. After dinner enjoy an evening of entertainment by the Murray Princess talented crew.

Begin the day with a guided nature walk, immersing yourself in the secrets of the Murray’s flora and fauna. As the PS Murray Princess cruises downriver, reach Fromms Landing, where you’ll embark on a mesmerizing wildlife tour. Travelling in small groups we explore the river with its amazing birdlife. The afternoon offers a choice of relaxation before a delicious dinner in the Sturt Dining room followed by another evening of entertainment.

After breakfast, disembark the Murray Princess for a guided coach tour exploring Mannum and the historic Dock Museum. Cross the river by ferry and travel through Younghusband to Bowhill, admiring riverfront homes. Enjoy lunch at the Swan Reach Hotel, perched atop golden cliffs with stunning views. Visit the Big Bend Cliffs, the tallest on the Murray River, and take in the breathtaking scenery. Back in Mannum, enjoy free time before reboarding the Murray Princess to cruise towards Caurnamont for the night, with onboard entertainment for night owls.

Enjoy a leisurely morning and lunch as the Murray Princess cruises upstream to Blanchetown. This is a perfect time to be out on deck to view the many types of wildlife on the Murray River. After breakfast cruise downriver to picturesque Swan Reach. The original Swan Reach homestead is now the Swan Reach Hotel where you can enjoy coffee or an ale overlooking the Murray River. Join a walking tour and visit the Swan Reach Museum (Gold coin donation). After lunch cruise downriver towards Sunnyvale whilst enjoying the magnificent scenery. On arrival at Sunnyvale experience the Woolshed Show recreating the woolshed history. We then visit the Native Wildlife Shelter, where some of South Australia’s native animals are cared for. Finish the day with a great Aussie Barbecue cooked and served in a bush setting on the banks of the Murray River.

We continue cruising past the magnificent cliffs over the Murray River before reaching the Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve, one of Australia’s most significant archaeological sites. We have the opportunity to take a guided boardwalk tour to view ancient rock carvings and to learn about the Aboriginal history in the area. We return to the ship for a final night dinner and entertainment.

We leave Younghusband and head back to Mannum. After breakfast we reluctantly say farewell as we arrive at the Mannum Wharf. Leaving Mannum, we travel to Adelaide Airport for your return flight to Perth. Upon arrival in Perth, your driver is waiting to take you home.
