Highlights include the Pumphouse, Diversion Dam, Ord Expansion area, Hoochery Rum Distillery, Ivanhoe Crossing and Indian Sandalwood plantations. The Lake Kununurra Sunset Dinner Cruise is the perfect way to end a day exploring the East Kimberley. As the vessel winds its way through Lily Creek and out into the open water of Lake Kununurra, the picturesque lagoon will have you reaching for your camera. Views of Sleeping Buddha will be enjoyed from Lake Kununurra before we turn the boat towards the Diversion Dam as the sun sets. Appetisers will be provided and once we reach our sunset dinner location in Packsaddle Lagoon, you will be able to soak up the tranquillity as you enjoy your Kimberley-inspired dinner. A complimentary drink will be provided on boarding the boat and additional drinks can be purchased from the licensed bar.
This morning you have the opportunity to take a scenic 2 hour flight over the beautiful Bungle Bungles (additional expense and must be pre booked, subject to availability). Mid-morning, you will be taken by coach through Durack country to Lake Argyle. As we near Lake Argyle, you will take a short break at the historic Durack Homestead Museum to enjoy a light lunch. This Museum was constructed as a replica of the original family Homestead and uses the original Homestead stone. Re-boarding the coach, we drive the short distance to Lake Argyle Resort before viewing the enormous Lake Argyle from a scenic look-out. Crossing the Ord Top Dam wall, guests will see the Ord Hydro-Power Station before cruising the scenic 55km back to Kununurra. Marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way and maybe even spot a crocodile! Enjoy afternoon tea at our riverside camp before heading back to Kununurra. Tonight, enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Start the day with an early hotel pick-up by an El Questro Ranger and travel along the iconic Gibb River Road into the breathtaking El Questro Wilderness Park. Enjoy a guided bush and culture tour, offering insights into the station’s pioneering heritage and the traditional use of native plants by Indigenous people. Along the way, stop at key points of interest unique to the region. Pack your bathers for exclusive access to Zebedee Springs – a natural thermal oasis surrounded by lush palms – perfect for a refreshing soak. Then, savour a Beef and Barramundi lunch at the Steakhouse Restaurant before boarding the Chamberlain River Cruise. Relax with champagne and fruit as you glide through the towering gorge. Return to the hotel for a peaceful evening and dinner.
